Lamp House Music Youth Acts perform at Audio Soup

Last weekend (31st Aug – 2nd Sept 2013) we were very proud to support Audio Soup – an East Lothian music festival – by sharing with them the talents of four of our ‘Mentored Youth Acts’.

Over Christmas 2012 and New Year 2013, we invited applications from young bands and musicians to join us at Lamp House Music in Haddington for our first ever Mentored Youth Acts programme.  This gave each successful group or performer a staggering 18 hours of free rehearsal and 6 hours (of 6 one hourly sessions) of free mentoring from professionals working as musicians or working in the music industry, all over a two week period.

We have continued to support these young musicians, offering them advice and helping them get gigs through our contacts.  As such bands Vacant Life and Beckett opened the main stage at Audio Soup and The Well Scrubbed Social Club and singer songwriter Louise McCraw performed to audiences in the festival’s Beetroot Cafe.

All the musicians did a fantastic job and we look forward to perhaps one day seeing them headline!
