‘FATHERSON’ TO PLAY FINALE OF ‘THE FRONT ROOM’

Fatherson

Band of the moment, Fatherson, are to play ‘The Front Room’, Haddington on Friday 30th November 2012.  The last in the current series of live, original, acoustic music evenings presented by the John Gray Centre, in association with Lamp House Music.

Fatherson are a four-piece alternative/indie/rock/powerpop band tipped for the top, following performances at T in the Park, The Edge, Wickerman and Belladrum festivals.  Currently touring Scotland and this month supporting Feeder at O2 Academy, Glasgow, ‘The Front Room’, will be a unique opportunity to see the band perform an acoustic set in an intimate setting.

Previously, under the name ‘Energy!’, band members Ross Leighton (Guitar/Vocals), Marc Strain (Bass) and Greg Walkinshaw (Drums) all played music together whilst attending Kilmarnock Academy. On leaving school, they moved to Glasgow, were joined by Chris Beltran (Keyboards/Guitar) and became Fatherson in 2010.  The now twenty-somethings have been making waves in the Scottish music scene ever since.

They won a SAMA (Scottish Alternative Music Award) for Best Rock/Alternative Band in March and following the success of their singles and self-titled EP, Fatherson have been supporting the likes of Idlewild, Twin Atlantic and Frightened Rabbit and are now playing to sell out audiences, including Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms, Glasgow’s Garage and the Arches.

Most recently Fatherson were selected to play at the highly acclaimed ‘Music Like A Vitamin’ Charity Concert during Scottish Mental Health Week at the HMV Picture House, Edinburgh (Oct 25th).  They have a new single and debut album planned for Spring 2013.

Lamp House Music spokesperson, Martin Simpson, said:

“Even before they went on sale, we had lots of enquiries at Lamp House Music about these tickets.  Fatherson have a massive following, lately they’ve been playing on a much larger scale – enormous tents and festivals – so it’ll be a real treat to see them play an acoustic set in such an intimate setting!  ‘The Front Room’ as a whole has been a great success and it’s fitting for Fatherson to provide the finale.  It’s going to be a top, top night!”
