Music Technology – GarageBand

After a successful first term, we are again offering this course to young people interested in learning how to use Garageband, starting Autumn 2015, based at Lamp House Music in Haddington.

Learn the fundamentals of recording using Apples’ GarageBand application for Mac OSX.

Over the weeks you will be part of a small group using GarageBand to learn:

  • How to start sessions
  • Creating your own templates
  • Using loops
  • Using midi and midi controllers
  • Midi note inputting
  • Using software instruments
  • Multi-tracking
  • Using Microphones
  • Signal flow
  • Automation
  • Editing
  • Monitoring
  • Mix-down
  • Exporting your tracks to iTunes

Perfect for young people either completely new or with minimal experience of GarageBand who want to learn music technology.

The sessions are taken by tutor Simon Walker.  The cost is £14 per session (please note that this may be paid in a block, or weekly, but any missed weeks must also be paid for.)  Equipment provided or pupils can bring their own Apple laptop or ipad if they have one with GarageBand on it.

Please contact us if you would like more information or to reserve a place – if you have missed the start date, don’t worry, we can still accommodate you!
