The String Group

The String Group – for all ages and abilities – will be run by our enthusiastic and experienced tutor Scott D Whitefield – a professional violinist from East Lothian, and former Leader of the renowned Fiddlesticks Orchestra.

We are welcoming children and adults to String Group with little or lots of experience – parts in arrangements will be written by Scott himself to ensure that full participation is possible at a level to best suit you.  Other instruments, besides strings, are also very welcome to come along and join in the fun! Each week, students will develop their musical abilities through learning to play a variety of music, ranging from folk to classical to pop.

Playing as part of a group develops great teamwork skills and enhances aural perception, whilst enabling individuals to experience the joy of playing music in a very sociable setting.

Names are now being taken for this fun and informal group – please contact us to express your interest, and we will keep you posted of starting details.
