October Music School 2013 –

Music Schools For All

This week we welcome ten children from across East Lothian for our first of six free music schools through our ‘Music Schools For All’ project, funded by Creative Scotland.

We are really excited to have been able to welcome children with different levels of experience, and of varying ages between 10-14 years old to Lamp House Music.

Having all met yesterday, we spent the day getting to know each other.  There was a Master Class in Vocals and Song-Writing from the fantastic Ana Nowosielska and everyone got started on what will form the basis of the songs.

Today is Guitar today! We have Chris Aien coming in to Lamp House Music to work with the now two bands.  Everyone will have a shot at learning some chords and playing some guitar, and then Chris will spend the afternoon working with everyone on their guitar parts for their bands.

It’s all going really well, the bands look incredibly promising, and everyone is showing dedication and commitment – we hope to have two very, very good songs by the end of the week!

If you are interested in applying for the Music Schools For All project – there are free weeks available right up to and and including the summer holidays in 2014.  See our Music Schools for All page for all the details and how to apply.
