There’s lots to do in the school summer holidays at Lamp House Music!
If you’re looking for fun things to do, then you’ve come to the right place.
First of all we have three FREE Music Schools For All, supported by Creative Scotland. Anyone age 10-14 years, living in East Lothian, can participate. But places aren’t guaranteed – there’s a wee application form to fill in, which doesn’t take long and is well worth it! The closing date for applications for this is Sunday 15th June at 9pm, after which we will inform the lucky (and not so lucky) people – so get yourself to the Music Schools page and get that form filled in!
You might have already been on one of the ‘Music Schools for All’, and unfortunately you are only allowed one shot on these specially funded ones (to make sure as many young people as possible get a turn) or you might want to make sure that you have a week of exciting stuff lined up for the holidays. So do not fear – instead we have another Band Experience in store for you – Summer Bandjam!
You might have heard of our weekly Bandjam, well this takes it to a whole new level! You will be put together with like minded souls in your own band, then you get to pick your favourite songs and do cover versions of them. Depending on how things go, you might even get the chance to write your very own original song. But that’s not all, throughout the week we’ll be recording your songs and filming your band so you will have recorded tracks to take home and footage to show your friends! You’ll also make up a ‘Press Pack’ for your band – this will include a band photo, band-member profiles and you’ll create some back stage passes. There’s lots of opportunities to make music and be creative, you’ll make new friends and have fun, fun, FUN!
If you want to book on to Summer Bandjam, please get in touch right away – places are few, and when they’re gone – they’re gone!
As well as the week-long projects, music lessons are available throughout the holidays (just call us to organise) and we also welcome youth bands to rehearse in our professional rehearsal facilities (an adult needs to phone and book this in) so there’s lots going on.
